In a world of cheap gadgets, Target has taken the high-end market by storm.
Its kitchenware line, Target Kitchenware, has sold over a million pieces since its launch in 2014.
Now the retailer is looking to turn that success into a sustainable business.
In a new report, Target describes how it’s building a sustainable kitchen and storage company to provide food, clothing and home décor customers.
The company is aiming to become the “world’s largest consumer-facing kitchenware company.”
The company’s new CEO, Chris Wilson, says Target is aiming for a 100% return on investment.
“We believe the best way to create value is to invest in our customers and grow them.
We are building an incredible product line to make a real difference in people’s lives.”
Target Kitchen is a brand new product line for Target.
The brand will launch this spring, with a full lineup of products.
It will include an assortment of home décollets, cookware, and kitchen accessories, as well as kitchen and kitchenware that Target sells at other retailers.
Target says it has “no plans to compete with traditional manufacturers.”
Wilson says Target’s new line is focused on “cutting edge technologies that provide the flexibility and value for consumers to customize and create unique experiences.”
He says the brand is “committed to bringing our customers the very best in kitchenware.”
For example, Wilson says that the company is working with “industry leaders to create a more efficient, sustainable and cost-effective way to store and deliver their food and food products.”
Wilson said Target Kitchen will have its products available online and in stores throughout the United States.
It has also started offering “free delivery to select cities in the United Kingdom, United Kingdom and Ireland.”
Wilson told the Business Insider that Target is working on a “totally new brand for the US.”
“We are really excited about this opportunity, because we want to be a sustainable food company,” he said.
Wilson says the new brand will “transform our way of doing business,” by “bringing our customers an amazing experience in our stores.”
The new Target Kitchen line will also include new kitchen accessories.
The new line will include “premium” kitchenware, including stainless steel knives, stainless steel bowls, stainless metal appliances, and ceramic dishware.
The knives will come in stainless steel, titanium, and titanium-plated stainless steel.
Target’s line will have the company’s signature stainless steel utensils and a “premier” line of kitchenware.
Target has also partnered with online stores like Amazon and AmazonFresh to offer a “best in class” collection of items for grocery stores and other retailers that they sell at Target.
Wilson said the company wants to make sure that the products it sells are designed with customers in mind.
“The best way for us to create the best experience for our customers is to make them feel the best,” he says.
The kitchenware collection will also have products for “all of our customers.”
Wilson also said that Target will focus on being “green and sustainable.”
Target says the company has “completed extensive research on sustainability and is committed to a sustainable way of life.”
Wilson tells the Business Insider that the brand’s commitment to sustainability includes “building a green home,” adding that Target has “built a long-term plan to build a sustainable product line.”
Wilson added that the goal for the new line isn’t to sell “green” products.
Instead, it will focus “on sustainable and organic solutions that offer the highest level of quality and performance.”
Wilson noted that “green products have a proven track record.”
The “best-in-class” line will come with “the finest brands in our industry.”
He also said the new Target kitchen line will be designed with “customers in mind.”
Wilson explained that Target Kitchen aims to “make the best of home decor,” and “offer the best in house design and cooking.”
“Customers are looking for a range of items that fit into a specific home, and that is what we aim to offer,” Wilson said.
“Our focus is on the essentials.
Our goal is to give customers the best home decor and kitchen design experience they’ve ever had.”
He said Target is also looking to partner with “some of the leading designers in the home and dining space,” such as “a local designer, a chef, or a home decorator.”
Target’s kitchen line is currently available in select cities including Boston, Chicago, New York, San Francisco, Washington, D.C., and Los Angeles.
The store is also available in a limited number of cities in Canada, including Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, Ottawa, and Halifax.
Wilson told Business Insider it’s “very exciting to be here and see the excitement for our new line.”
He added that Target hopes to have the line available in as many markets as possible.
